Stay the same, or change up?

Post by bigmc260 »

Hi everyone. I'm recently rediscovering the joy of stimming (probably went 3 years without using it) about a month ago, and have had far more success lately than I ever did in the past. I did have one or two HFOs years ago, but never really got the hang of things. I was a member on the SmartStim board, and it was a great resource...I'm hoping that this board will have the same camaraderie and help that there was over there. My question is: once you've found something that works, is it better to just stick to that (at least for a while to make sure you've got it), or is now a great time to play around with other electrode placements? I've had HFO's 4 days in a row now with the same setup--tri-phase with a loop around my shaft and scrotum (insulated on top) with the other 2 electrodes (parallel conductive rubber strips held together with cord locks) around my glans (one on the top/corona and one on the bottom/frenulum). I'd love to find other placements that get me where I want to go, but don't want to lose what I've already found lol. I'd love to hear thoughts on whether people tend to mix things up, or whether most of you stick to the one thing that seems best for you. Thanks in advance for any replies, and I look forward to trying out any suggestions.

If you're even asking this question, it suggests to me that you're keen to try different things. So why not? You can always come back to the setup that's worked so well for you. I occasionally feel in the mood for something different, which I try - and can be a bit "hit or miss" - but I always come back to my favourite setup afterwards.

I'm definitely interested in trying different things...I just don't want to "forget" what I'm doing now lol. It took a lot of time getting to where I'm at, and don't want to lose what I've found, especially if the consensus was that everyone stuck to the one thing that worked for them.

A little experimentation can help to get the most out of your #estim equipment and I always recommend keeping a stimming diary when you do so.

It will help you to zone in on the best ways to achieve a hands-free orgasm while helping to avoid things you have already tried. Note down your current settings and electrode placements as you can always come back to them but by experimenting you may find ways of enjoying it even more.

Joanne! I have to thank you--I read a couple of your blogs showing different electrode placements, and while I ended up doing something slightly different, they were great at getting me back into things. Thanks for the help (even if you didn't know it)!

just going to add that while electrode placement and arrangement makes a big difference, as does the program mode and its adjust/feel settings...

Make sure you are in the right head space for it. Stimming your genitals is only half the job, the mind blowing orgasms happen when the stimming is right feles good and your mind is turned on, watching porn or whatever gets you going... avoid mundane distractions.

There has been times when my work schedule dictates evenings when I cant stim... or rather evenings when I should stim because it will be a few days before my next opportunity.
This "obligation" to stim can add pressure and unless I build up.to a session in the right frame of mind... a "forced session" is never as good as one that jutst goes with the flow.

Maybe it one of the great secrets of mankind waht makes you search for new things, try something new.
However, when you found a good way, why change things ?
But do compare it to a good meal. You probably like your favorite meal. But do you like having it every day ?
Or look at an interesing film, maybe porn, but not necessarily. Maybe you like to see it again, but would you like to watch it again the next day or even every day ?
On the other hand, when you try something completely different, you have a chance of disappointment.
Regarding stimming, the best way for me is choosing a proven setup, but vary it from time to time.
