Possible virus email

Post by LeMaudit »

I recently received the following email from this forum:
You have received a new private message from "RomarlokkiMn" to your account
on "www.e-stim.net" with the following subject:

Велосипеды для всех
The message contains nothing but an image.

It may be related to http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/201 ... ndroid-bug

I am only speculating, but wanted to play it safe

Re: Possible virus email

Its does appear a new user has been attempting to send spam messages via the PM system, he has now been removed, hopefully all the spam PMs have also been removed. You should always be wary of emails received from unknown sources and be running the relevant firewall/anti virus protections. We can only do our best to try to protect our users, but sadly some people will abuse the system.

Because of this have reverted back to the old system of new users not being able to send any PMs until they have posted at least 3 times in the main forums and are no longer marked as 'Newly Registered". This does mean that if you want access to the new firmware, then you need to post in the forums and become a little more active before you can PM the admin for access to the developers forum.

Some people do it appear spoil it for everyone else.

Si

P.S. Many thanks to everyone who reported the PM's!!!
