A multimeter on AC will not be fast enough to correctly register the output level of a 2B or many E-Stim units - multimeters are generally designed for RMS measurements of 50/60Hz, not 100-6000Hz.

You could try, but the 2B is designed to make normal music interesting, and since the human body is more responsive to changes in signal, an input of 60Hz is not going to always generate a 60Hz output.

In terms of the original post, anything that will switch mains voltages will generally be fine for E-Stim Signals, and the energy duration is lower.
