UpLink 2.1 32 bit and macOS 10.15 Catalina

Post by estimbird » Sun Sep 01, 2019 2:40 pm

UpLink 2.1 for macOS is a 32 bit app.

Starting with macOS 10.15 Catalina, estimated release date this September, macOS will not support 32 bit apps any longer.

Under 10.14 Mojave you already get a warning dialog saying the app need an update.

Are there already plans to release UpLink for macOS as a 64-bit application? That would be really great.

Sorry for the screenshots being in German.

Drivers are already in built into Catalina, Commander is currently being tested with the new Apple install/notarise system.

Odd as 2.1 still doesn't pick up serial only Bluetooth, and obviously doesn't pick up my 2B. 2.2 does same, updates drivers from the site still.not picking them up in the app, therefore not auto detecting. Ideas ?? Have mailed support also.

when you say you have the same problem you mean you cannot see the Digital Link Interface? or Uplink won't run on Catalina? Uplink does not have auto detect. Uplink 2.3 is a 64 bit version and works on all our Catalina machines.

We have now tested the Digital Link System on multiple builds of Catalina on hardware from 2012 to 2019, and the cable is correctly identified by the System.

If you need a 64 bit version of Uplink, then you need to email the support team with proof of purchase

I didn't know that - mail sent ;)

It would be really great if there was an announcement in the forum about this.

Or even better if they emailed their customers who had purchased and pointed them in the right direction. I mean all Mac running Catalina is now 64bt yet I'm expected to chase the vendor?
