seems you've made quite a bit of progress. i recently upgraded to a 2B and bought 3 different sounding rods to go with it. wish i had more opportunities to wire it up.

Very new to urethral sounding.
My first attempt was with a number 12 straight sound. Not sure of the official name.
With a lot of lube and patience, I was able to insert only about 3 inches before it became painful. I stopped and just relaxed for a while and tried inserting more. Nope, hurt too much so I stopped. No feelings, other than the fact that something was there.
I then tried the number 6 a couple of days later, same results. OK, I thought, my urethra is smaller than I thought, so I hunted around and found a number 1 and 2 sound.
Tried them last night and what a disappointment that was. Even using the number 1, I couldn't insert more than about 4 inches before it became unbearable.
So my question is: Is the urethra abnormally small, or am I doing something wrong?

About me. 76 year old, with ED, have had a TURP about a year ago. On an extensive list of meds.

Any thoughts anyone?
