I'm back finally. As to the original post, my discovery was to turn off any extra audio processing on the laptop via advanced settings.
I have confirmed, belatedly, that was the case on my laptop.
Glad I was able to help forum member by the name of "9397".
perhaps others as well.
I have been stimming more lately. good to be back.
