Postal Delays

Post by admin »

Postal Delays
You may or may not be aware, but due to ongoing industrial action within the Royal Mail, there are disruptions. This does not just effect collections and deliveries on 'strike days', but due to the rolling nature of the action it effects different departments at different times.

This means delays and disruptions can occur anywhere along the chain between us and your doorstep. As well as the initial disruption of a strike, any industrial action will case a backlog of parcels, so a 1 day strike can take several days to clear, this is compounded with the increased volumes of mail caused by Black Friday, Cyber Monday and of course Christmas.

Over 85% of our recent orders shipped have arrived with minimal delays, so not everything is delayed.

Shipping Daily
Once you have placed your order we will generally ship your order, if placed before 2pm, that day, or if placed during a weekend we will ship on the next business day (normally a Monday). We will provide you with a tracking number and status updates right up to the point your order has left our building - just visit your store account and the details are displayed.

Please be Nice!
If we say your order has been collected then your order has been collected by the relevant postal service/courier. We don't lie, we don't hide, we try to be open and honest, and we are trying to deal with the disruptions to the best of our ability. Shouting at us and making threats due to issues beyond our control is not really fair, we are doing our best to navigate the issues caused by the ongoing strikes.

Alternatives
We do generally offer an alternative service to most destinations, If you select Express shipping on checkout, then your order will be shipped via a courier, and at the moment the couriers are not on strike, although they are seeing an increase in demand due to more of us using their services when the Royal Mail is on strike.

We will always strive to offer you the best service, but unfortunately we have to rely on others to get our products to you.

Hope this helps

Re: Postal Delays

latest official Royal Mail email. 13/12/22
Despite our contingency plans at the end of November/start of December parcel volumes are at their peak, and this has caused significant delay to the processing of a small number of items posted during this period.

Our intention is always to process items in the order we receive them and in accordance with the product/service specification. However, the impact of strike action when we’re managing high volumes means not all items have been processed and delivered in order. As a result, you may be experiencing some items being delivered out of sequence, as we move parcels around our network for processing, in order to recover our services as quickly as we can.

We’re very sorry for the delay. More items from this period are being processed every day. We expect that to continue and for them to be delivered in the coming days.

When the item is scanned into our network, recipients will receive a notification to advise we have the item as well as further notifications when items are out for delivery.
