Out of Phase Between Channels

I have been experimenting with taking a sound files that other have made and playing it through both channels but using a sound mixing software to time off-set the two channels. This results in being able to control 3-D like moving of the sound pulses that is much better compared to triode approach. Have others tried time off-set between channels? I believe this would be a potential future improvement to the device since location of the electrodes is never the same when applying the two channels to different areas on the body and internally.
