commander doesn't work

i get error:
No Response from 2B - Have you selected the correct serial port? Is your 2B plugged in and switched on? Is Commander enabled?
my estim 2b is in commander mode with the cable plugged in before i plug the usb in.
serial port is recognized but still cant connect on my osx.
what do i need to do ?
firmware is on 104
